Kilometer Kids - Sessions

  • Do we need to follow specific curriculum?
Whether participants run for 20 minutes straight to get in the miles or participate in a combination of running and running games, the most important thing is that Kilometer Kids participants are active. We recommend 45 minutes of activity each session to log the complete 1.25 miles.
  • Where can Kilometer Kids participants run?
Kilometer Kids can take place at an outdoor track, soccer field, park, trails or on your neighborhood sidewalks. If your child is running outside of an enclose area, then please make sure you run with them the entire time so they do not get out of your sight.
  • Do I need special shoes / clothing?
It is recommended that participants in the program wear athletic shoes to help prevent injury. It is also recommended that kids wear clothing that is appropriate for the weather (i.e. shorts and t-shirts in warm weather and sweatshirts and sweatpants for cooler temperatures).
